Round 2

Report by IM Thomas Rendle

Daniel Hunt - click for larger imageFor the second round the coaching started at 9am. Each player had roughly an hour of one-on-one time with their coach, with many players choosing to come back for more after lunch.

After an excellent first day for the English Team (they scored 8.5/13) many of the players were facing highly rated opposition in round 2 so we knew that it was always going to be a tough day. This proved to be the case as the team came back with 4.5/13 meaning that the average score at the end of the round was 50% overall. Worthy of mention was Matthew’s draw against a highly seeded Columbian player. The results are listed below.
