World Youth Championships 22 October - 3 November 2003, Halkidiki, Greece,

The World Youth Chess Championships 2003 and the 74th FIDE Congress bring to Greece more than 1700 people, players, coaches, congress participants, journalists and representatives of 100 countries! More than 1000 chess players from all over the world have entered the World Youth Championships 2003 competition which begins on 23 October and will conclude, after 11 rounds of play, on 2 November 2003. The latest list includes 613 players in the boys’ categories and 407 players in the girls’ categories reaching the grand total of 1020 from 85 countries. The games will be hosted at the Athos Palace and Pallini Beach Hotels, in the holiday resort of Kallithea, Halkidiki. D.E.I. M/TH Chess Academy and the Greek Chess Federation under the auspices of FIDE are the organizers of the event.
