Thank you to everyone who has sent in their Match of the Generations results as we now have over 1180, however we still need more! The aim is a record breaking 50,000 games!
The totals so far are: U20 498.5 and 20+ 747.5.
Some people have held special events, a few of which are listed below:
The basic idea of The Match of the Generations is that players Under 20 on 1 January 2004 will meet opponents 20 or over under any circumstances they deem suitable, including games played on the Internet. The aim is to have 50,000 games played in the match, we hope this will be the biggest team event ever to have taken place in any sport.
This is intended to take place over the whole country and will finish on 6 May 2005.
There are various objectives, but prime amongst them is to encourage local chess clubs to seek out potential new members from among the young.
You can send in your result to the BCF Office (by email, fax, post or by filling in the online form), giving first the name of the young player or team and then the older one, type of event, the result, when and where the event took place and the name of the event. Good Luck!
Please note that by supplying these details you are giving permission to the BCF to publish them in print and on the website.
Please send your results to: BCF, The Watch Oak, Chain Lane, Battle, East Sussex TN33 0YD (click here for a printer friendly form), email: , Fax: 01424 775904 or fill in the online form below.
